Biography

ARTPORT is a series of international art exchange projects that bring together artists of different cultures through exhibitions, residency programs, and collaborations. ARTPORT promotes the cross-fertilization of art, science, and politics. The first ARTPORT series, HURAKAN, will explore the effects of Global Warming.

Current Projects:
1) COOL STORIES FOR WHEN THE PLANET GETS HOT is a selection of short animations and videos by artists from New York and Spain. Their visual comments on Global Warming range from subtly evocative imagery to shockingly real visions. The COOL STORIES contest was launched by ARTPORT and shown at Scope Basel, JAM ART Mallorca, Valencia.Art, DiVA Paris, and PooL Art Fair Miami, all 2007.

2) ARTPORT_PUBLIC is a citywide public art project on billboards that aims at sensitizing the general public to the causes and solutions of Global Warming during international meetings that relate directly or indirectly to Climate Change. To be launched at World Petroleum Congress, Madrid, June 2008.

3) HURAKAN_Exhibition: ARTPORT’s first major exhibition is planned to launch at the World Conservation Union’s Congress in Barcelona in October 2008 (http://www.iucn.org). The IUCN is the world’s leading authority and democratic platform in conservation and sustainability. TBC
