Biography

Born in 1974 in Beijing, Tao Peng studied in Art Department of Beijing Film Academy and graduated in 2004. His first feature “Little Moth”, which he scripted and produced independently, awarded “NETPAC” Award at the 60th film festival Locarno, won the “Golden Award” in International Competition for Feature Digital Films section at 31st Cairo International Film Festival, won “Norwegian Peace Film Award” at Tromso Film Festival, and won “Silver Digital Award” in the Asian Digital Competition section at 32nd Hongkong International Film Festival. LITTLE MOTH was also a big winner in 2008 Bucharest Intl' Film Festival, in which it won BEST FILM, BEST DIRECTOR, BEST DEBUT, and Critics Diploma. This film has been screened in several international film festivals by now and won a lot of international acclaims.

And his new project THAT YEAR WHEN WE WERE YOUNG has been selected into Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab in June 2008.
