Biography

Aundre Johnson is an American film writer, director and producer. A native to Los Angeles, he started his studies in film production in Orange, CA at Chapman University. While honing his craft at Chapman, Aundre produced an independent short film titled Hungry, Please Help that screened to an overwhelmingly positive response from viewers. Spurred by his success, Aundre continued his professional studies in London, England at The Richmond American International University and in France at International College de Cannes.

After achieving his educational goals, Aundre returned to Los Angeles and began work on Fox Television’s 24, MGM’s James Ellroy scripted feature Dark Blue and served as a second unit director on Fox’s Oliver Beene. Practical experience dolled Aundre the key points a film director learns from working in the field beyond the classroom. Lessons that have driven him to become the respected film visionary he has become.

Having learned early on that film making is not inclusive and that it’s about finding your own way in; Aundre took concepts from real life situations he had seen and heard. Creating original plots for short films, he created his own company, Posh Films (http://www.poshfilms.net) and set to work to create his vision.

Earning respect for his concepts and direction in film making, Aundre’s 2004 release Hungry, Please Help won an Audience Choice Award and his film The Extra earned an award as best Comedy. Among Aundre’s well received short film pieces are titles Hungry Please Help, The Limo Driver, Hired Help, Fucking Hollywood, Crisis 76 and 4 & 1/4. The last title in this list, a hauntingly familiar rendition of the Fellini Classic 8 & 1/2 has left audiences in awe of his limitless abilities at bringing production perfection to the screen. The Directors Guild of America’s annual “Digital Day” event selected Aundre’s film Crisis ’76 as an example of the ever growing potential of digital film making.

Currently working on his next film, a feature based on his short film Hired Help, Aundre has been offering screenings of his shorts in a variety of film festivals. A collection of his films can be seen and purchased from his website at http://www.poshfilms.net. The website is also a valuable tool for contacting Aundre regarding screenings or for inquiring about further information regarding his work and Posh Films.
