So, I was waiting patiently for “The Hangover Part III” for director Todd Phillips to redeem himself. Returning to their Wolfpack characters are Bradley Cooper (Phil), Ed Helms (Stu), Justin Bartha (Doug), and Zach Galifianakis (Alan). Mr. Chow aka Ken Jeong is back with a vengeance as well and this time, he wants blood, and lots of gold! John Goodman and Melissa McCarthy join the cast for the first time. This third and final chapter also gives many shout outs to the first film that it may make you wispy…if you’re a fan of the series. So is the third movie good? Is it worth your time and money? It avoids the obvious temptation to give psychedelic music a colourful 'kaleidoscopic' look as a backdrop, and instead goes for subtle black and white montages of trees and branches, suggesting the complexity of the music through the complexity of organic overlappings and gentle wind movements. Gradually shots of the band playing are subtly interwoven, without breaking the mood.
