Finally he runs to the safety that the island gives. Joaquín (11) vive con su abuela al interior de Isla Tenglo. Cada día le prepara desayuno y le da su medicación, hasta que una mañana se agotan los remedios y el pequeño debe comprar medicamentos en la ciudad. Joaquín recorre largos senderos, bosques y playas hasta llegar al bote y cruzar a Puerto Montt. Ahí se da cuenta de que perdió el dinero que le habían entregado y angustiado continúa hacia la ciudad.
