In this video Cineuropa interviewed Eastern Plays’ director Kamen Kalev, Storm’s producer Britta Knöllerand, Welcome’s co-writer Emmanuel Courcol and Doris Pack, President of the EP Cultural Commission, who explains the reasons of the Lux Prize. Created in 2007, the prize was previously awarded to Fatih Akin’s The Edge of Heaven and Lorna’s Silence by the Dardenne brothers. Both these films highlight Europe’s multiculturalism and the political and social challenges posed by this diversity.

Le Village Des Écoles took place in December 2010, within the framework of the Festival Des Arcs. This event spotlights future producers and directors studying at Europe’s most prestigious film schools. Each school is represented by a recently graduated director-producer duo, and a professor or the head of the school’s production department. Over the course of one week, students participate in ateliers, meet with film professionals, present their first feature film and exchange ideas and experiences with students from other schools. The latest edition was organized in partnership with the Low Budget Film Forum, which is supported by the MEDIA Programme, and featured the London Film School, Fémis, the National Film School of Denmark and the University of Theatre and Film of Budapest. The videos offer interviews with the students and professors who took part in the event.
