I wrote this for the Fringe Festival 2010 with Project Girl Performance Collective, the show was called 'Girl Power: Survival of the Fittest'. It was part of a larger piece about the gentrification of NYC and was my attempt to explore my own relationship to the gentrification phenomenon. My friend Dimitri added a sound track, and Eren, Alexey, and Semyon helped create a music video. I am forever grateful that this came to be! Thank you guys!

In Canto II, Margot starts to question why she was sent to New York by a mysterious stranger named Elbon. She starts talking to Vicky to get some answers. Vicky listens patiently and tries to make Margot safe but to no avail. Margot grows more and more suspicious of Vicky when they receive a text message from the same person at the same time. The conversation soon turns into an argument, leaving many questions unanswered. The episode is inspired by Canto II of The Inferno, where the reader finds out why Virgil was sent to help Dante and guide him through hell. This is also the canto in which the reader gets introduced to Beatrice for the first time. Can there be parallel between Beatrice's and Elbon's characters? Find out in the next episode.

As Margot questions the meaning of the sign, she is interrupted by the loud sighs and lamentations of a group of sinners trying to get her attention. Scared at first, she slowly approaches the sinners, growing more and more curious. The two leave the dark room upon Vicky's insistence and get inside a parked SUV waiting for them outside. Charonte, the driver, takes them to an unknown destination and starts explaining the mysterious happenings on the streets of New York.
