The northern region of Afghanistan is the bread basket of the country. USAID is working with farmers to improve their farming techniques so they can increase their yields and earn more money from farming. A key tool is the two-wheeled tractor that reduces the amount of time and labor farmers use to plow, plant, and harvest crops. Additionally, improved seed and fertilizers increase the quality and quantity of food farmers can grow. The overall results are sustainable and bring hope for food security throughout the country.
