After the Khmer Rouge/Cambodia

Cambodia was ruled by an ideology that destroyed education and culture and committed genocide against its own people. The Khmer Rouge did not last for that long in the time-line, but they left a wound that still has to heal - schools burned, links to the cultural history of Cambodia erased and millions killed.

The United Nations has been active in helping Cambodia restore: Joint UN/Cambodian Tribunal bringing perpetrators to justice and collaborative efforts to rebuild education and revive Cambodia's cultural legacy.
