Aung San Suu Kyi Speaks on Myanmar Reform
Independent Films, Politics, Women
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi recently freed from detention in prison and house arrests for extended periods of times appears to be embarking on a more evolutionary methodology to attempt change and political reform in Myanmar. In this very recent recorded film report, she appeals to the ILO (International Labor Organization) to undertake a greater role in Myanmar.
Some have criticized Ms. San Suu Kyi for perhaps being too restrained in her challenge to the Myanmar junta. We will see if this result delivers new opportunities, but it is fair to asses that the United Nations efforts in Myanmar have also yielded at best marginal results. All are seeking new avenues to spur badly needed political, economic and social change.
