Eileen Guo, Founder of Impassion Media, on Afghanistan's Education and Economy
Independent Films, Interviews
Eileen Guo is an entrepreneur and engagement strategist with a track record of dreaming and implementing big ideas, especially in communications strategy.
Eileen’s work lie at the intersection of communications, conflict and crisis response, and entrepreneurship. She developed the first digital strategy at the McChrystal Group; trained and managed a team of social media analysts for a publicly traded oil and gas company; created a civil-military training program in post-conflict stabilization featuring crisis mapping technology; and conducted media relations in the aftermath of a magnitude 7.9 earthquake in Southern China.
An anthropologist at heart, Eileen has a nuanced understanding of the role that culture and context plays in developing a strong communications strategy. This skill has served her well in emerging markets across the globe, including Afghanistan, Chile, Ethiopia, and India.
Eileen graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a double major in International Security and Anthropology and holds a certificate in Humanitarian Field Practices from the Harvard School of Public Health.
She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese.
