FEATHERS TO THE SKY
by Irena Mihova
Feathers to the Sky captures the beauty in the reality of our dreams and the sprinkle of magic that revives the spirit we all hold in our hearts. The story is set in a shantytown of Latin America, and is about Tamara, a poor girl, with a vivid imagination and colorful dreams. Her only ambition is awaking to the same ill fate, of selling her grandfather’s homemade feather dusters for livelihood. Quite commonly, most of the downtrodden world might be rundown from life’s hardships. However, this quite uncommon 10-year old, Tamara, has the will to not allow the power of her dreams escape her. An
inspirational teacher is the impetus for Tamara’s curiosity in learning and draws her to the life she seeks through education. The film speaks metaphorically about the special instances and unsung heroes in our lives that drive us to fulfill what we ultimately aspire. It reveals that inside everyone is the unspoken enchantment of dreams.
