Born in 1970 in France, Auzou studied international trade, public law and political science. He started his career in 1997 at the French economical daily La Tribune as head of sales for jobs advertising. Between 1998 and 2007, he acted as head of International Advertising for Le Film Français while he also undertook advertising for the Cannes Market, Cannes Film Festival between 1999 and 2007. He is the vice president of the Venice Days/Giornate degli Autori section of the Venice Film Festival, since its creation in 2004. Since 2006, he is the manager of The Business Street, the film industry event of the Rome Film Festival.
