United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the Government of Spain have joined in a series of conservation programs to promote sustainable environmental preservation which highlight benefits to man and nature. The funding and project initiative involve UNEP, Spain and the local government - in this instance the project is a marine preserve off the coast of Guinea Bissau in Western Africa - Strengthening the management and surveillance of Marine Protected Areas in Guinea-Bissau with the Spain-UNEP Lifeweb program.
