Mia's Story (Lebanon)

The World Report on Disability is a major WHO/World Bank publication launched on 9 June 2011 at the United Nations in New York. The report explores current evidence about disability and highlights what works to improve the lives of people with disabilities. One chapter of the report highlights the importance of education as a means to promote participation. To continue our exploration of "What's disability to me?", we invited Mia Farah, a woman with intellectual disabilities from Lebanon, to tell us about the problem of negative attitudes in schools, and to introduce us to the concept of self-advocacy.
