Success/Struggles in Saving Cultural/Natural Heritage by UNESCO

Saving our shared Cultural/Natural Heritage is part of UNESCO's mandate. There have been successes and still ongoing struggles/efforts. One of the success stories is the "Bridge" of Mostar destroyed during the war in Bosnia & Herzegovina and during my tenure as UN Ambassador.

Also see link at bottom for more great videos at UNESCO.
The World Heritage Convention is the most ratified international treaty for cultural and natural heritage preservation in the world. This year, on its 40th anniversary, the World Heritage Convention celebrates sustainable development and the role of local communities.
