Around the same time that the United Nations is opening its General Assembly session in New York with Presidents, kings, Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers, in Washington the World Bank and International Monetary Fund is hosting its annual week for Finance Ministers and other national/global leaders talking finance.

The 2011 Annual Meetings will focus on actions to boost the economy and counter risks, including for low-income countries, and strengthen IMF surveillance and lending.
