The Arctic Circle - Behind the Scenes Storyboard Comparison
Independent Films, Animated
This is a comparison video between the storyboard panels I drew for my short film The Arctic Circle, and the final film.
Animation is an extremely time consuming process. You pretty much can only shoot/animate what is necessary. Unlike live-action, you can't shoot coverage and make choices in edit. This is why storyboarding is an essential process in animation.
As you can see, the final film is extremely close to what I had originally storyboarded almost 6 months before shooting began.
Storyboarding is an extra valuable step in stop-motion animation because it informs you of what you will need to build in terms of sets.
Enjoy this look into the process of how my film was created!
