The Clearing

Journeying north through Scotland, Beth encounters a stranger in a secluded lochside woodland and is disturbed by a sense of unease and a fear of an intended suicide.

Based on a true story 'The Clearing' takes place in a beautiful but desolate part of Scotland. This poetic story follows the journey of a woman dealing with the break down of a relationship. Photographer Beth embarks on a long drive back to her hometown in the north of Scotland. Traveling through the dramatic autumnal landscape she veers off the beaten track and into the woodlands where she happens upon a man in a clearing. Beth becomes aware that he has journeyed there with the intention of taking his own life. Their chance encounter gives Beth's life a new perspective.
