The Colored Chair
Independent Films, Social Responsibility Movies, Family movies, Drama
A colored chair that brought memories back for both the young and old man. This story was about a young man who wanted to convey his painful thoughts that he had kept for many days ever since his father’s death. On the other hand, an old man, living in the other world was smoking while he thought about his family and the unwillingness to leave them. Towards the end of the dialogue, the young man’s voice started to tremble while the old man was no longer present in the house. The young man broke down into tears and the final message was left unclear.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
The whole story was inspired by my father who passed away in March 2010. It was a film that I used as a way to express my thoughts and emotions after he left. The short film was being directed at two different location as I wanted to portray them being in a different world. The concept of the mirror was to explain that there lived another world where the old man was. Towards the end of the film, the son wanted to convey a message to his father but was not
properly expressed. The reason was to leave an experience to the audience when I was about to convey my last message but it was too late, my dad could no longer listen to me.
