Announced on 4th July, the elusive Higgs-Boson, otherwise known as the God Particle, was finally detected by CERN at the large hadron collider near Geneva in Switzerland. Steve and Ben discuss this announncement and its importance in the history of scientific discovery. Also on the show, Hollywood used the LHC in the film Angels and Demons, a drop in science students in Australia causes concern, and the rise of online learning could spell the end for traditional, campus-based education.
