VICE PRESIDENT: SUDAN REFERENDUM TO GO FORWARD
With barely three months ahead of a scheduled referendum in Southern Sudan, Sudan’s Second Vice President Osman Ali Taha said that it will happen on time. According to the peace agreement of 2005 it is to be signed in January of 2011. Speaking to journalists in Khartoum, Taha highlighted that there were still some outstanding issues yet to be resolved, mainly post-referendum arrangements and the north-south border demarcation.
