Women suffer inordinately from the HIV/AIDS epidemic. This is a look at how women are impacted and impact around the globe.

This weeks United Nations summit on HIV/AIDS brought together government and civil society representatives and delivered an ambition plan of action. It brought together presidents and artists, including Alicia Keys.

There has been significant talk on mother to child transmission, but one female participant felt frustration that women were not addressed in a broader context of the HIV/AIDS epidemic - as she expressed: "we don't have value just as babymakers."
