Below are the top 12 weekend estimates from the North American box office:

1. Hannah Montana The Movie - $34,000,000
2. Fast And Furious - $28,783,000
3. Monsters Vs Aliens - $22,617,000
4. Observe And Report - $11,140,000
5. Knowing - $6,670,000
6. I Love You, Man - $6,412,000
7. The Haunting In Connecticut - $5,710,000
8. Dragonball Evolution - $4,650,000
9. Adventureland - $3,433,000
10. Duplicity - $2,997,000
11. Race To Witch Mountain - $2,000,000
12. Sunshine Cleaning - $1,804,000

Overall, the Box Office was down an estimated 12.5% on last weekend's total gross.

Box Office spoils were spread around more evenly this weekend, with the top four films earning over ten million dollars.

Disney reclaims the box office crown again this weekend, churning out Miley Cyrus in the form of Hannah Montana to an estimated $34M with the teen flick HANNAH MONTANA THE MOVIE. Disney is the undisputed master distributor behind lower budget/high grossing films, with this latest entry likely to already be in the black after three days.

After a phenomenal opening weekend, FAST AND FURIOUS plummeted in to second place, earning a significantly lower but still respectable estimate of $28.7M. The film lost 59.4% of its audience in its second weekend, which is perhaps better than expected. The film has grossed $118M thus far domestically and will be a strong winner for distributor Universal.

MONSTERS VS ALIENS has held well again, now in its third weekend, earning an estimated $22.6M. The film dropped 30% in revenue from last weekend, but it is moving along at a good pace and showing the kind of legs that films of this genre tend to show. The film is now sitting with $141M in total and still has to work to recoup its budget of $175M.

Seth Rogen's latest comedy, OBSERVE AND REPORT, opened in fourth spot with an estimated $11.1M this weekend. Given the film is about a mall security guard, it's hard not to compare it to earlier big winner PAUL BLART: MALL COP and as such, the Rogen comedy might have missed the boat in catching this audience.

The only other new opener this weekend is DRAGONBALL EVOLUTION, which did not do much of anything with its estimated total of $4.6M over the weekend. With its poor reception, expect this film to disappear quickly.

The US Box Office took in an estimated total of $130.2 million for the whole of the weekend 10-12 April 2009.
