“Mabel’s Strange Predicament” (1914, Lehrman/Sennett)
“Mabel’s Strange Predicament” is the third film to star Charlie Chaplin and it is more of ensemble short film with Chaplin hovering around the hotel shenanigans, adding fuel to the fires no doubt. This one is not that entertaining and can be a slow ten minutes plus of film. Charlie is still honing the ‘tramp’ character and this style of comedy is still ironing out the kinks on this new medium of film. The film was released in February 1914.
