Countergirl

Sujit Chawla's "Countergirl" is a well paced midly entertaining short film. The camera is truly an instrument of the viewer in this film: being trained from behind on the countergirl's hips as she strides over to a spot behind the counter in a hospital convenience store; both main characters give close-up narratives. I'm not sure I like him by the end of the film, but there is enough shown, if not verbally established, between the characters that a mild tension can be felt.
