"Mechanism" review

The eyes are always the most important conveyor of emotional state of character in animation, particularly in silent animations or animations without dialogue. The alien animal robots of "Mechanism" have big heavy lidded eyes that look lazy and peaceful, and ultimately wise. The astronaut's two beadie eyes are more defined by the eyebrows. Well the story is about where a little love and understanding can get you. Sometimes, it may just be okay to trust that robotic animal stranger (let alone any stranger), because if you're ever stranded on his place in space, he just might be able to hook you up with some booster repairing technology.
