The first horror film

A medieval castle, a bat, skeletons, ghosts, witches and even the Devil. There is everything required to fright people. In fact, “Manor of the Devil” (“Le manoir du diable”), 1896 movie by George Méliès (author of the well-known “A trip to the Moon”), is considered the first horror film.

It lasts only two minutes and, to tell the truth, it isn’t scaring at all, probably because the director’s aim was to amuse.
