Why will “W” by Oliver Stone preview at London Film Festival?

“W” by Oliver Stone, film based on the life and presidency of George W. Bush, will preview at London Film Festival and not at Rome Film Festival. Why? There are two different versions of the story.

Yesterday la Repubblica published an article in which DDA Public Relations said that the Italian Festival refused the movie because it doesn’t approve Bush’s choices and the U.S. president is a friend of the Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi. Today Piera Detassis, Rome Film Festival artistic director, replied on il Giornale. She affirmed that the movie producers simply preferred London to Rome.
