The Caribbean is experiencing its own economic and financial woes. Some of this is a consequence of the Eurozone crisis as many of the island states are closely linked to old colonial powers. In this video the IMF takes a closer look at these and other more structural causes and potential remedies in advance of an upcoming conference: This is a video interview with Saúl Lizondo, Associate Director of the IMF's Western Hemisphere Department who talks about the outlook and challenges for the Caribbean region and the expected outcomes from the High Level Caribbean Forum which will take place on September 4-5 in Trinidad and Tobago.
