The Internet brought a whole new different face to many professions in term or distribution. Of course, we instantly think of bookstores, clothing stores, or travel agencies. Soon, you also realize that you can do almost any jobs online. I recently came across a website where you can make money online by selling your services and skills in writing, translating documents, building resumes, etc. You no longer need to go to the office to receive a pay check.
Artists are part of the trend too. You wrote a book but no editor is interested? Publish it online. You design clothes but can't find a store where to sell them? Create your own e-boutique. You made a movie which didn't make it to festivals or production studios? Post it online. Better, make revenues out of it.
We have the perfect example here at Film Annex where hundreds of talented short film makers have understood how the internet and more specifically social media platforms are the new way of getting your work out there. Read filmmaker Mark Kuczewski's post. He says it himself. He joined Film Annex in 2010 and has made subsequent revenues since then thanks to his Web TV that showcases his short films. He also uses it as a portal to communicate with his audience and takes advantage of all his social networks to promote his work and generate more traffic.
The film entertainment industry is changing. Don't wait. Let the world know you have talent. Online of course.
