Director Joe Carnahan Talks About “The Grey”

I love this dude! He’s fun to talk to. Speaking of, I actually have more fun talking to directors than the stars of the film – they give me a deeper insight into their movie, obviously, and sometimes, that’s all I need.

Director Joe Carnahan reteams with his “A-Team” star, Liam Neeson, for this enjoyable male-bonding romp. It’s like “Deliverance” with a pack of wolves! And boy, those wolves are scary!

In this interview, we talked about:

*** What I learned from his movie
*** What made him want to do the movie?
*** Masculinity – the theory of being male – and his films
*** Nature versus Man
*** The cold climate as a character

Have fun!

A group of oil-rig roughnecks are left stranded on the sub-arctic tundra after their plane experiences a complete mechanical failure and crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. The survivors, battling mortal injuries, biting cold and ravenous hunger, are relentlessly hunted and pursued by a vicious pack of rogue wolves.
