Playground was my final project that i did at university, it was shot over a couple of days on a budget of around £400.

It was a big challenge and the film rurally evolved throughout the process. The film was going to be from the point that Gordon gets out of the car to dig the hole however when i went to do the castings and i auditioned Chris who plays Gordon he had prepared this monolog for the audition. Once i herd it i knew that Chris needed more dialogue because we needed to know more about his character.

It was then that i released i was not telling the most interesting part of the story. So i decided that i needed to really tell the story of why Gordon might have became this character.

I wanted to keep the narrative fairly mixed up so that i could feed little bits of intrigue here and their but just when you wanted more it would jump in time.

I have always been a fan of films that have this mixed up narrative, and i think if you put the film in order it just would not be as interesting.
