The Tale Of Mr. Revus
Independent Films, Kids, Family movies, Animated
Night after night, we are trapped into the most ludicrous worlds: our dreams. The inventor of all these dreams is in the center of attention in the short film "The Tale of Mr. Rêvus".
During one of his nightly routines, an accidental mistake is the dawn of a big adventure: the dreams of people become reality in the shape of weird creatures.
Even the dream of Mr. Rêvus becomes reality and the creature tries to become friends with him. But the crazed dreams threaten the world, so Mr. Rêvus has to set out on a journey to restore the order of dream and reality.
Unfortunately this means that his dream has to go too...
The illustrative computer animated short film tells about friendship, hope and how our dream's world can break into pieces by accident.
Transcripts / Production notes / Scripts
The animated short film “The Tale Of Mr. Rêvus” is my (Marius Herzog) graduation (Diploma) film, produced at the Georg-Simon-Ohm Hochschule – University Of Applied Sciences, Nuremberg.
The challenge of this movie was to reproduce the entire production process of an animated 3D short film by myself, including story development, concept design, modelling, rigging, directing, editing, animating, rendering and finally compositing (see credits).
The amazing score orchestrated by Simon Scharf, student at the Hochschule für Musik Nuremberg (HfM), has been conducted by Guido Johannes Rumstadt, played by the orchestra of the HfM and recorded by Toni Hinterholzinger.
Special thanks to all the kind people who supported me in a very tough time especially my beloved family, Prof. Jürgen Schopper and Tobias Wiesner. This movie would not exist without you...
Besides the actual technical and creative production, the story turned into a very personal metaphor.
Thanks for watching!
