Jordan Abbey-Young
Jordan Abbey-Young is an aspiring Filmmaker, through his desires to become an Actor in the cattle dust plains of the Etheridge Shire, a remote place in Far North Queensland he set out to create his own opportunities. Through his production company 'Angry Christmas Productions' Jordan made the move from basic picture movies in Windows Movie Maker to fine turning his Sony Vegas editing skills by filming and editing birthday parties and creating montage DVD's as gifts.
In September 2009 he made an improvised Mockumentry called 'About Forking Time! A Look At The Political Crisis In The Etheridge Shire' where he created a fictional alter-ego, ABC News Reporter John Holdsmen who interviewed some drunk locals at a BBQ with nothing but a fork. It came together to form the local masterpiece that is a hit in council camps and with locals alike, a unique look at the odd ramblings of remote workers in the remote country of Queensland.
In 2010 he took a chance on trying to make a real movie, written, directed, produced and starring himself Jordan filmed 'It's All You', a romantic comedy over a week in July with his cousin and his cousins friends for cast. Filmed in Mareeba on a bugger all budget with two camcorders the film premiered on the 29th of September 2010.
Jordan continues to hone his skills through the use of filming local events and editing them to DVD, majoring in spoof and the local brand of comedy and lunacy, Jordan hopes to get into NIDA University and one day become a Hollywood Legend. Until then, he creates his own opportunities, studying via the Cairns School of Distance Education until he has to leave the hot, dry countryside of the Etheridge Shire.
