In 1974, Jean Kennedy Smith founded Very Special Arts, a nonprofit organization that promotes the artistic talents of young people living with disabilities. Smith also served as an Ambassador to Ireland during the Clinton administration and played a pivotal role in the peace process in Northern Ireland. Here, Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Rose Kennedy, talks about the lessons she learned growing up and how that shaped her for a career dedicated to helping mentally and physically challenged children.
