My first video was created as an extension of my paintings because I wanted to capture the pigments moving across the surface. As technology became more accessible I developed my videos into a series of 'Moving Paintings.'

Currently, Jason Christopher and I are creating 3D forms to hold/translate/disperse video light.

Deconstruction and rebuilding are parts of the development of my compositions. I dissect, overlap or edit imagery by layered application. Pollutants/Fuels/Enviro imagery, figurative range of motion, auras, spatial relations, and thought process indicators are references I use to build the vocabulary of the paint structure. Finding new shapes based on the compositional elements of these consumption scenarios.

Sometimes I embed objects that have psychological and memory attachments into the multiple layers of fabrics and paint. My supports and pigments come from recycle programs. Materials from my living area often become appropriated for their surface qualities. The attachments to familiar surfaces influence the mark-making.

Many of the overlapping directional movements in the work are developed from encounters with extreme weather conditions. Swirling debris and precipitation from blizzards, hurricanes, tornados, and tropical storms inform the linear qualities of the brushwork. Combinations of shape become references to weather formations and light reflections.
