Embracing and Ignoring Fear

Posted on at

Isn't it awkward, in times we listen to our gut feelings, we want to go for it and suddenly we don't. We want to open up and try to explain what reality is and then we dont. We want to share our view or participate during classroom discussions and we dont. Later we repent or in worst cases we get depressed and punish either ourselves or others for our failures.

According to Seth Godin, "Most of the things we avoid are avoided because we are afraid of being afraid.

Unfortunately that is a fact, "Yes, we are afraid". Every challenging task involves risk, however it actually isn't the risk we avoid but the fear.

On the other side, there are people who seek the fear, then embrace and overcome that fear. Those people love to feel the fear, they expose themselves to the resistance, and with time get more actice and do their work proudly, those people are the actual risk takers and leaders.

It actually depends on our attutude, as Captain Jack Sparrow quotes, "The problem isn't the problem, the problem is our attitude towards it".

A beautiful slogan by Mountain Dew, "Dar ke aage jeet hai".

Translation: Success comes after fear.
