Famous Cities with their Nicknames! Part 1

We see in our daily life that many people are known with their nicknames rather than their real names specially the people involved in poetry drama use their nicknames rather than their real names for some other people their nicknames become their identity similarly people start nicknames for their pet animals related to this there is also one more department cities there are several cities in the world whose names are followed by their nicknames there is always a reason behind the nickname of a city and finding that reason is the main point of my blog

Florence the city of lilies

From 14th century to 17th century the cultural revolution was started in Italy the origin of this cultural revolution was the city Florence that era was also known as the era of knowledge and skills historically this city is known as the city of lilies.
Lilly is a flower. This flower is just like a bulb and it has long petals these flowers are found so abundantly in the city Florence that is why Florence is known as the city of lillies.

Florence is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany . It is the most populous city in Tuscany.

Toronto, the muddy york

The most populated city of Canada,Toronto  has many nicknames but the name Muddy York is the oldest name. In today's world its roads are well prepared but in the past its roads were covered with waste and dust. And when the rain falls it changes that waste and dust into mad so the passenger make fun of this city and called it the city of mud although it is not the present condition but the Toronto is still remembered with this name.

Geneva, The Peace Capital

Biggest city of the Switzerland Geneva is also known as the peace capital the reason behind this is that there are round about 200 offices of that kind of NGOs whose mission is to observe peace in the whole world due to the spreading of peace and stopping of weapons bread in the world Geneva is known as the peace capital.

Geneva is a city in Switzerland that lies at the southern tip of expansive  Lake Geneva having Population 194,565 (2015)

Milan, The fashion capital

Milan is the second largest city of Italy is famous with the name of the fashion capital due to its new designs every time the famous Armani brand and several brands like this have they display houses in this city this city is also famous for the leading and famous fashion shows.

Milan is the city capital of the Lombardy Region in Northern Italy .It is the second most populous city in Italy.

Sydney, The harbor City

The largest natural Port is situated at the beach of Sydney. Due to this reason this city is known as the harbor City. It should be kept in mind that the famous Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge also the part of this port. This is the video of Harbor Sydney, Australia. Australia is no doubt very famous for its cricket team which has been the world champions for several times and also have won several other tournaments too.

Pittsburgh, The Steel City

American state  Pennsylvania has the second largest city with respect to population whose name isPittsburgh. This city is known as the Steel City. Reason behind is that there are almost 300 + companies and factories where the production of steel continues for the 24 hours. This city is also known as the city of bridges because there are more than 450 steel bridges

Philadelphia, The City of Brotherly Love

American city Philadelphia is called the city of brotherly love by all the immigrants from the world. This beautiful nickname was given to this city by its founder William Penn. The meaning of Philadelphia in Greek language is brotherly love in which "Phila" means "love" and "delphia" means "brotherhood"

Seattle, The Emerald City

This city is surrounded by jungle and greenery from all the four sides that is why this city is known as the Emerald City due to its greenery. Emerald is a beautiful mineral stone of green color. Seattle city , situated in Washington is also known as Jet City. Actually hundred years before the jet manufacturing company Boeing was established there and still a large number of servants of this company are living in this city.

Jeddah, The Bride of Red Sea

Playing with the waves of Red Sea, Jeddah City is situated in the red Sea which is the largest port in that sea. That is why this city is known as the bride of Red Sea. It should be clear that all the trade activities are happening due to this port. Jeddah is a great city of Saudia Arabia and it is situated in the province of Makkah, the holly place for the Muslims.

Tel Aviv, The City That Never Stops

The world's 17th costly cityTel Aviv  is the backbone of Israelian Economy. The hotels, restaurants, bars and tourist resorts are open 24 hours that is why this city is known as the city that never stops. People of this city says that the life never stops here and continues. There are 16 other most coslty cities of the world and the 17th city is Tel Aviv.

Madrid, The Forum

In the ancient time cultural, economical and political point of roman dynasty was situated in the Madrid and this point was known as roman forum whose remains are still present. due to This reason Madrid city is known as The Forum city.

Football team of Madrid is Real Madrid which is also very famous in the world. It has won various tournaments held in Europe. Football matches of this time are streamed on the TV all over the world. The famous Portugal player cristiano Ronaldo also plays in the team.

Madrid is the capital of Spain and the largest municipality in both the Community of Madrid and Spain as a whole. The city has almost 3.166 million population.

Kenya, The Safari Capital of The World

For those who love the wild creatures and animals and all those who love to research new things, Kenya is not less than any wonder for them. Due to better services for travelling and research in the largely spread forest, Kenya is known as the Safari capital of the world.

Moreover, Kenya is located in African community and most of the people who live in this city belongs to black people. Kenya was inhabited by the hunters. Kenya is a backward country and most of the people here are very poor but the athletes of this country are very strong. They participate in various Olympic games and win gold medals for their country. Kenya has produced very famous athletes who have a golden era for some time.

Kenya  is a country in Africa and a founding member of the East African Community (EAC). Kenya covers 581,309 km2 and had a population of approximately 48 million people in January 2017
