Make Yourself Heard.

Posted on at

Now that you are getting older, it's time to stand up for yourself.

You should be noticing by now that people listen to what you have to say about many different subjects.

Welcome to the adult world of having an opinion and being able to change things about your life.

Worthy Causes.

People have strong feelings about many things.Often it's the environment, politics, animal rights or local youth issues. You might feel that you can't make a difference, but you can if you approach it properly.

Not seeing eye to eye.

Beware of getting into heated discussions. Some issues can cause bad feelings. Before you debate with your best mate,or big sis, or try a similar discussions with an adult, such as a teacher. It's a good way to see how other  people feel about your chosen subject. However, be prepared for others to see things differently to you.

Emotional Issues.

To make your voice heard,it's vital  to be prepared. Before you start arguing your point ,answer these questions.

  • Do you know lots of facts about your chosen subjects?
  • Can you present the facts in a logical argument?
  • Are you aware of the arguments against your own views?
  • Can you put forward your point without getting over-emotional?

Going Global

Look online for like- minded people. All the major UK political parties have youth wings, and international organisations, such as Green peace and WWF, are always looking for new members. This is a great way to make a difference, and to increase your knowledge of your chosen topic.
