Greetings readers.

It's been a while since I last posted anything on this site, and I sincerely apologise for that, it's been a bit mental and hectic for me recently, however, I'm going to try and make it more of an habit to write and work on this blog, as I enjoy writing, and need to definitely do more of it! And thus this series of posts that i'm starting, The Editor Reports, are going to be more of a frequent blog series that i'll be posting hopefully on a weekly basis.

So what have I been up to? Well, after my last film, which is still available on Vimeo here (small plug there), I have been working on my latest film, this time a non-fiction, centred around the world of cosplay and cosplayers. I'm working on this mainly for my own love of cosplay and attending conventions and events such as Comic Con and MCM Expo. Primarily looking at the characters they are cosplaying and their own views on cosplay. More of a fan film, in a sense, as it's something I adore and enjoy doing, but none the less, an interesting topic which I'm going to put a lot of effort into.

Aside from that, I've been a busy bee working on various different projects from multiple people at University and outside of University. Currently working on with Wildfish Productions as an editor, cutting several music promotional videos for a series of clubbing events in Stoke On Trent. The people running Wildfish are the Level 6 in my University, and as part of the course, required to obtain 80 hours (10 days of 8 hours) worth of work on their own projects. It's been an absolute joy to work with these guys, giving me full creative control, albeit a few adjustments to things they want in the video. More videos to come from them in the future also.

Onwards from that I've been pulled left, right and centre to create VFX, motion graphics, titles etc for other members of the Level 6 group as well as Level 5. As much as I enjoy the work I do, and I enjoy doing it immensely, I'm not used to all of the attention I've been getting for the work I produce, considering myself quite a humble person. I suppose I'll have to change how I feel over time, as this isn't stopping soon!

Aside from this, great opportunities are head for me as my editing career is finally taking off, establishing myself as a professional and freelance editor in the industry. Not saying anything more, but working with more established and running companies is something that is definitely in the foreseeable future for me. Watch this space!

In the next blog post, I'm going to divulge into something which I've been debating with a while, and it's something that a majority of editors in the post production industry are facing at the moment. The weapon of choice when it comes to cutting and editing. That's for next time though.

Until then, I'll see you creative people later!
