Will robots eventually take over the menial tasks in our world?

Posted on at

We've always said that we're going to need people to be janitors and garbage collectors, but how true is this, really? With the advent of teenagers who make robotic hands controlled as if they're real and companies that sell personal robots, how long will it be until someone makes a line of robot for menial tasks? This may improve our economy, but bolster unemployment. Of course, someone will have to own the robots, too. More likely than not, this entity will be rich in either money or power. What are the implications of a robot-controlled society? Will we still have a fair, democratic American society once robots are introduced in public sector jobs?
