Conversation with Texas Southwestern Medical Center Nephrologist Donald Seldin
The legendary Chairman of Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center joins the JCI Editor Ushma Neill to discuss how he engineered a transformation of the department and the school from a grouping of ramshackle army barracks to a world-class medical center, host to Nobel Laureates and members of the National Academies. Seldin was a pioneering nephrologist who also talks in his interview about serving as an expert witness in the trial of Nazi physician. Among his many attributes, Seldin has been described as one of the most magnetic and charismatic mentors academic medicine has encountered.
