Why Do We Love Monsters?

Uploaded on Tuesday 16 July 2013

Monsters are scary abominations that have scared us since ancient times, so much so that many of our fear-based behaviours have been hard-wired in to us. We may not have monsters that can kill and eat us in modern society, but that doesn’t stop us from going to the local Cineplex to see a chilling horror film. Steve and Ben talk a look at our love of monsters and our fearful reactions to them. The guys also discuss the 48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the stoush between Australia and Japan over whaling, and how family life may be harmed by technology.
